The Carmel Valley Skate Park is a 13,500 square foot skate facility with a 10 foot deep cast-in-place concrete bowl and modern urban elements such as railings, stairs, banks and ledges. It is equipped with night lighting and has restrooms, a shade structure and sitting/observation areas as well.
In conjunction with pro-skaters and landscape architects Michael McIntyre and Kanten Russell of ACTION Sports Development, the team prepared the master plan, CEQA documents and detailed construction drawings for this major community skateboarding facility. With input from pro-skaters, community children and parents during several data gathering sessions and public meetings, the park is enjoyed by both professionals and beginners alike.
In 2009 the project received
the Honor Award from the American Public Works Association (APWA), San Diego
and Imperial Counties Chapter.
