establishment of the corporate headquarters at the La Jolla campus, the team
worked with SAIC to develop an overall landscape master plan. The plan included
pedestrian connections that linked the furthermost buildings on campus. The
plan also included connections from campus to adjacent natural open areas.
On-going landscape consultation
services for this seventeen-acre corporate campus facility are provided with consultation
services including quarterly landscape reviews, preparation of design studies
for areas to be improved, and evaluation of contractor bids and preparation of
landscape design guidelines.
Additional services have included
evaluation of water usage and water management practices. Cost estimating has been provided to
determine the cost benefit of conversion of the existing irrigation system to a
reclaimed water system. More sustainable
practices were incorporated throughout the campus.
The revitalization plan resulted not only in improved appearance and employee satisfaction, but water costs declined by about half.
